Ergomotion started as a mere inkling in the mind of the company’s current CEO, Alain Clenet. As a 23-year-old French immigrant to the United States in 1968, Alain jumpstarted his entrepreneurial career by establishing and selling companies in the automotive industry. In 2005 at the age of 61, Alain decided to set up his fifth and final company before his retirement. Alain was approached by a personal friend in the mattress industry who lit the path of how to make it happen: adjustable beds.

Alain, however, needed help to start his company. He knew the right person for the job would be his son, Kelly Clenet. Alain and Kelly saw this as a great opportunity to work as partners. Kelly accepted the challenge and quit his job as a successful professional in the hair care industry. A few weeks later Ergomotion was born; a small company started by father and son in 2006, has grown from inkling to successful business and the benchmark of adjustable beds in the bedding industry.
